About The ORIGINAL Dungeons & Dragons Meetup of Phoenix

Welcome to the ORIGINAL Dungeons & Dragons Meetup of Phoenix web site. If you live in or near theCentral Phoenix and are interested in playing D&D, come to a Meetup.

What happens at Meetups?

Our Meetups are designed to bring players and games together in a fun way. I would liketo start each Meetup with an informative session that offers advice and new ideas to beginners and veteran players alike. This is a great time to match up players and DMs. Since the setting is casual and comfortable with an emphasis on participation, it provides great opportunities to discuss all the aspects of the game we love. Sometimes we talk about our individual campaigns, our Player Characters, and the things we do and see in our games. Sometimes we discuss rules, interpretations, and the history of the game. We might even discuss the "mean" things that DMs do to the PCs or even the comical things the PCs do to each other.

As of 6/19/08 we rank 69th out of a total of 254 meetups. Not bad for a local group thats only 8 months old!!!

What if I just want to play?

Then come on in and join the party!!! Having others around that share your enthusiasm in gaming makes that much easier to get a game going and make friends!

"Playing a RPGA scenario at the Meetup."

I have been asked about this. I dont mind one bit. I only wonder if its going to be sanctioned or just a side tryst. The bottom line here is to participate and have fun.

Are beginners welcome?

If you're new to the game, we can get you started. We will be running a beginners scenario for those who have little or no experience. This is a perfect time to teach your family members how to play in a great environment. If you're an old hand looking to get back into a game we can help there, too. Check us out; you might like what you find. biggrin

PS: Please fill out the INTRO questions and have a pic; It just makes it that much easier for people to get to know YOU!!

It includes additional open source information that WotC has made available from books other than the PHB.
