The KC Area Dungeons & Dragons Meetup Group Message Board › Savage Worlds Game

I'm looking to get a Savage Worlds group together every other week (Saturdays, Sunday nights, and Wednesday nights are my open times right now). A few players have already expressed some interest, and I'd like to run one of the following settings, depending on what players are interested in:
Deadlands: A Weird West setting, in which magic and monsters lurk just beneath the surface of a twisted American west. With the rumblings of war not yet faded, and a number of strange and ominous events on the horizon, will the players be able to survive the horrors they will inevitably face? Will they go a step further, and take the fight to evil itself? Necessary Evil: Earth's greatest heroes were vaporized in act of betrayal by those who would become our new alien overlords. But salvation may come from the most unlikely of places, if they can learn to work together. Become part of a cell of super villains fighting to take back what only they can rightfully conquer: our planet! Slipstream: A fantastic pulp sci-fi game set in a pocket universe of shattered worlds and weird aliens hidden beyond a black hole. Will your heroes join the fight against the evil Queen Anathraxa, or travel the fragments for their own profit? Who are the mysterious Stygians, and what do they want? And how the heck does a body get out of here? High Fantasy: I'm currently torn between the following settings: Wisp: Will the High Priest of the Unconquered declare a Holy War on the unruly masses of Havenstad? What's making the Dragons of Timbang restless enough to travel so far north? And perhaps most importantly, is there any truth to the rumors of an endless army of undead rising from the ocean in the far west? Dyffryn: Long ago the Humans came to this land, shattering the balance of power forever and carving out a new kingdom for themselves. Now, the human king is dead without an heir, and civil war looms nearer every day, as the nobles bicker over the throne and Half-orc rebels stir up trouble in the streets. To the north, an incursion of Salamanders are burning their way through the Fey forests, and the Sea-Elves report sightings of a strange black ship heading for land. What impact will the heroes have in these troubled times? Anyway, let me know if any of those sound interesting! Here are the Test Drive Rules for Savage Worlds - I think you'll find it pretty easy to pick up (the best way to learn is just to play a session or two). I'll be in the library this Saturday (the 31st), ready to talk about settings, and hopefully to run a sample encounter or two. |

Based on the feedback of those who were showed up on Saturday, I'm going to go ahead and plan on meeting for character creation and a first session two weeks from now, on November 14th, at Mega Meetup #70. We'll be playing Deadlands, so if anyone happens to have an additional Savage Worlds Core Book or Deadlands Book, please bring it - also, check out the free supplement to Deadlands found here: "The Flood Player's Guide." It contains additional Edges, Hindrances, Items, and Weapons, and is largely focused on enhancing Martial Artists and Enlightened Warriors, although there is some additional support for other character types.
Further bulletins as events warrant. -Jon P.S. Oh, and I think we're looking at between 2 and 4 open seats for that session. Contact me if you're interested. |

Jon - Send any details you want posted for your game to me or one of the other organizers and we will add your game to the schedule for the 14th.
I think this game sounds great and I encourage everyone who is looking for a game to give Deadlands a shot. After all, the setting was cool enough for Bruce Campbell! |
