Notes from Wed 4/15 - Tax Day

Attending: Nate, Dane, Krynn, Kepher, A'liana, and Shamus

Loot: Gold chain to store 3 magic potions given to Uriah for identifying loot, chain mail, hammer of Thor +2, wolf skin of AC0, amulet of Thor, 2 gold bracelets for storing 1 magic spell, jade necklace of AC-1, 3 gold armbands traced to Set, other weapons sold for 930 GP to each person attending.

Notes:
The first part of the night was spent trying to trap Morgan Lafaye by tracking her movements in the Aulden Arrow and then going to Necropolis to see if we could be followed. Kepher pretended to be hurt to see if that would help....but we ended up fighting some Scandians who were tracking us. We killed Ralph 2 Scandians for XP and the other two are stripped naked and allowed to leave.

Alf (who has been in Dane's room under the blanket of holding, comes along on the second part of the journey to his new home at Igor's tower. The rest of us use one of the portals to go to a jungle area and hunt dino's to help get some XP. We fought a banth, a stegosaurus, a pterodactyl, and a lizard creature. We find a tomb with carvings of Set the Snake and get some treasure there.

When we return to Igor's tower, we see two graves outside....one is Alf and one is for one of Igor's guards (only 4 left there now). Alf had tried to escape and killed a guard and then was killed by Igor. We learned that the tower is funded by the Temple of the Way.

When we return to town via our new pentagrams, Kepher is challenged to a duel by Alf & Ralph's older brother Malph and Kepher is victorious. Ragnar wants Kepher to marry his daughter, Brunhilda. Shamus learns more about his thieves guild and not to throw money at beggars :(

Lot's of XP so Kepher could make level 10, congrats!

Notes from Sat 4/18/09

Attending: Nate, Krynn, Darius, and Lore (Buzz's new Cleric)

Loot: Chest w/10 gold bricks from Vark the Slayer worth 10,000 GP, still/magic albemic to make potions given to Uriah for identifying items, 8 scrolls for 50 pts of healing and 1 scroll for cure disease, a bag of holding, 6 books of accounting & other information for Corwine's shrine given to Leon, an evil ivory albino worm and an evil jade snake given to Leon to destroy, 1 gold brick w/worm worth 1,000 GP, 1 earing w/topaz worth 1,000 GP, 1 nose ring of AC0, and 6 parchment papers (one saying "find the heart gate" where evil jumps down your throat.

Notes:
On a peronal note, this was my favorite day so far in the Neopolis adventure for a number of reasons, but helping Leon was a nice reward for the 3 of us.

Krynn makes a 50,000 GP donation to Leon from the proceeds of selling the chain mail, then Darius and Krynn provide funds by drinking potions to create gems and selling them with Philo. The money is used to talk to Pulg and get info about Morgan Lafaye and also to given information to her in a delayed manner so we wouldn't be followed. She hangs out in the square of the Gods, thieves guild where Triscos III talks to her, the Aluden Arrow, the Silver Eel, the Blue Lizzard, and the thieves area in general. Also, she's had Dunwaddie the Jeweler working on several items to enclose large gems. She has been seen on the escarpment (maybe we took some of her items there???) and finally, Lilly the Cook has a ring of Morgans that she wears upon her neck (a gift of Garris). Lilly allows us to take the ring temporarily, so we visit Dunwaddie to get a copy made and return the original to Lilly. We pay Dunwaddie 10,000 for the ring.

Our adventure was to help Leon with a task....to return the shin bone of St. Cordwine, the Mitran Saint and fighting Cleric of the temple so it could be incorporated into a new shrine.
Prior to the main event, Lore gets his first Cleric test when the Picts are torturing a Scandian who tried to attack Little Lamprey. We return the Scandian to Leon and find that the Wanderer speaks Scandian.

The rest of the adventure was in the Cornwine's tomb along the escarpment. Vark the Slayer had taken over the tomb and placed albino worms there to protect his statue and an evil portal. We kill lots of the worms, kill 3 evil creatures (see pictures online), find the shin bone, find a secret door to Cornwine's tomb, 12 skeletons of good men, a chest, and destroy all of Vark's items (which shuts down the portal where the evil creatures came from.

We find out that we should be searching for the "Heart Gate", another evil portal that needs to be destroyed on another adventure. Leon is very happy with our results and will have another quest for us next week!

Krynn

We had a great game Wednesday night!

Chris, Buzz, Victoria, and Nate ran. Cathy dropped by on her way home from the airport!

The party sought and found the Temple of Zamboanga!

They first located a steaming creek, a processional way, orcs, snakemen and tannah leaves! At the ancient ruined temple they had to deal with undead and a bizarre wooden statue.

The treasure haul was a good one, too.

Notes from Sat 4/25/09

Attending: Nate, Darius, Lore, and Krynn

Loot: 12 gold bars worth 12,000 GP (4,000 GP each), fish helm of AC-0, Mergatroid's 2H mace +6, and 2H sword pattern welding w/lion +6, 50 point healing potion, 1 neutralize poison potion, six cups w/ obscene monkeys (Yink), chest w/6 gold monkey cups, medallion w/ape (destroyed), medallion of the green monkey (Yink), and ring of enlargement & control/evil (destroyed).

Adventure:

Lore sells the gold monkey to Yink at the Honomun Temple for 30,000 GP and an amulet with a lion. Lore has a banquet in his honor at the Temple of Mitra and is presented with Mergatroid's Medallion that stores 3 spells and was pre-loaded with (3) 50 point healing potions from the Leon and the Wanderer (this is the amulet from Yink). Lore, Darius and Krynn each received 10,000 GP from the Temple from the sale of the gold monkey. We try to give the money to the Mitran Temple but Leon asks us to keep it.

Our quest today was to help return the Magnificent Mace of Mergatroid to Leon and it was in the control of the Temple of Honomun and it's current leader, Yink. We get Yink to neutral territory at the Temple Tavern and ask for the return of the mace. In return, he wants the Medallion of the Green Monkey from the Zamboanga Temple. We head to the Zamboanga Temple and kill a large frog prior to detecting something under the stairs leading to the Temple. After crushing the side of the stairs, we find a spector of AC0 inside guarding a chest. After taking a beating, it walks through the dirt under the Temple. The chest contains 6 gold cups w/monkeys and an evil scroll.

We find the trap door that leads us to a secret chamber under the Temple and find the spector and an ape on a gold pentagram. Krynn kills the spector and all 3 of us kill the ape. We uncover another chest in the chamber containing the green monkey medallion that Yink wants in trade. We also find 12 bars stamped with monkeys in the bottom of the chest. We encounter another large ape when Krynn tries to dig up the pentagram and Darius and Krynn destroy it. Darius gets two fang marks and poisoned when opening the chest and drinks a potion to neutralize poison. As we're leaving the Temple, dark clouds & lightning appear and the Temple mound collapses into the ground.

Igor has 5 guards again and he killed 3 beastmen recently. Uriah identifies our items and provides the group with a 50 point healing potion (we give to Lore for safe keeping) and gives Krynn 1 potion to neutralize poison to replace hers. He says that he loves the magic albemic (still) and said it takes about 2 weeks to make a potion....and asks us what potions we'd like him to make for us.

We meet Yink in neutral territory again and exchange the green monkey medallion for Mergatroid's Mace. We show him the 6 gold monkey cups and he trades us a helm of fish and a sword with a lion on it. Krynn is eventually given the 2H sword by Leon (+6), Lore is presented with Mergatroid's Mace (+6), and Darius is presented the helm of fish (AC-2).

It was a great day for battles and recovering items for Leon. We also see Leon's generosity. Thanks, Nate, for all the great stories!

This was another first rate run!

The Party's reputation for "Standing Up To" the Temple of Hanuman got them a "mission" from an anonymous man.

An ancient sacrificial well was located deep in the seaward escarpment north of Neopolis, not far for the ruined fortress called "Chevy's Krak." The well contained a lot of material from days gone by, which our heroes promptly snarfed up! After they killed two hideous creatures!

Some of the players speculate that the creatures bested were demons, but that rumor can be neither confirmed or denied.

Mike and Jared started two new pcs. I hope they had as much fun as I did!

I finished moving my office! Hopefully I will have more time to deal with neopolisnotes in the evenings now.

We had a great run Wednesday night! We did miss Jared, Victoria, Dean and all the rest of our absent friends.

Uriah the Heap reported that the winds of magic were blowing strongly.

That very night the doors of the Temple of Thantos were broken open, from the inside!

The night watchman was found laughing hysterically and babbling, "He took a walk, he took a little walk."

The body of Tobias, former cleric of a failed restoration of the Temple of the Horned One, and late monk of the order of Arkham, was missing.

The party located the late Tobias and returned him to death's kingdom!

There is more, but you will have to ask one of the party for details!

Victoria and I had a great time Saturday afternoon at the library!

Harriet and Chip made some solo runs, and found success and some leads to various mysteries!

She tracked down and eliminated an ancient corpse risen from the dead! Wonder what awoke it and where was it going, and why?

Harriet went to Igor's Tower and eliminated the 2nd Purple People Eater to appear there in recent months!

She also dealt with some nasty undead creatures who attempted to night ambush her camp at the 4 day stop on the road to the southern highlands!

There's more, but you will have to talk to Harriet about it! I'm sure Chip is not talking...

Krynn, Trak, Zone (welcome aboard Rob), Shamus, Aliana, & Dane Found a ancient, hidden tomb at the base of a granite spire in the Broken (Not Blasted) lands of the Northern escarpment. There they found a Famous Sapphire Shard for Demeter! They Battled a giant slug, a guardian demon and a Cobra headed snake demon to get it! I will always remember this run as the "discretion over valor" run, except for poor Aliana that is.

Shamus located a tomb that contained a finger bone, and a nasty etherial creature. The entire party except Krynn, beat feet at the sight of the creature! Krynn stepped up and slew the vile thing all by herself! On the way back to Neopolis the party chanted a pean to her victory.

We had an epic run Saturday afternoon!

Buzz (Dane), Cathy (Krynn), Chris (Carantus), & Victoria (Harriet) took on some Extremely nasty minions of Set, and won!

We had a great time Wed. nite!

Victoria (Harriet), Chris (Carantus), Mike (Trak) & Rob (Gin) ran.

The party found the 5th station of the dark path thanks to a map given to them from an elderly Scandian wearing a gold ring in his nose.

At the 5th station they dispatched some evil demonic creatures and found what may be the 6th station on the dark path!

Treasure and loot were plentiful. The pizza excellent! Gin (did I get that right, Rob?) almost levelled up!
