To try gaming with a new group and a new style, and find something fun to do regularly close to my home in Daly City.
Hmm, never paid too much attention, but I guess Lidda. Halflings have this sort of 'against all odds' vibe to them that's fun.
Since childhood, but I didn't really have a chance to game with other people on a steady basis until college, which was 9 years ago.
A stressful situation where there are several right answers. You get people bringing up their backstories, making arguments in-character, shuffling through notes looking for a new angle...good stuff, as long as it doesn't bog down.
D&D 4e and Exalted are my two big attractions. I know D&D 3.5, White Wolf, and GURPS pretty well, but I'm a little burnt out on them.
Usually the DM, but I really want to be playing for a while. I'll get back to DMing soon, I just need to have some good experiences as a player first.

"Hey Grant, glad to see you organizing something! I've been wanting to play, but just haven't had the initiative to put something together. (It always seems kinda lame to say 'I want to play...somebody run it for me!')..."
"So, my Meetup Group, what's coming up in the Bay Area these days, gaming-wise? Any conventions? Events are happening at local stores?"
"Sorry I didn't make it - I actually ended up working from home that Thursday. I'll try hitting up the GMs, find out a bit more about the times, locations, and play styles!"
"Wow, that Borders is right down the street from where I work. I've been watching your posts for a while...but unfortunately, I'm just not interested in playing 3rd Edition any more...."
"Yeah, I can't guarantee anything, but I'll put my hat in the ring as interested. I'm enjoying 4e a lot, and always eager to play more of it."
