Given that I'm a newb, could I come to this and not be totally left in the dust? I'm a pretty quick learner but this stuff looks complicated.

I have 2 friends who were completely new to any tabletop gaming and picked up 4e really quick. Shouldn't be too bad. :)

Michael,
You should definitely sign up and come. I know of one other player at the table who will be new, so you won't be alone. Also, if you need help generating a character let me or one of the other DMs know and we'll give you a hand with it. Linda |

So.
Very. There. With a brand-spanking new lvl 1 character. I can use any of the 4e corebooks+the FR phb, right? Edit: also, is there a character builder+printer at the Gamer's Guild? Edited by Ryan on Jul 1, 2009 12:51 PM |

Not that I'm aware of. I have the character builder on my laptop and will be there so you can borrow it if you need to - it has a great battery so you could use it to play althought the screen is kinda small. If there is a printer there and they let you borrow it (I wouldn't bank on it) then we could go that route as well.
All core books are fair game. Download the RGPA character creation file from the Files link on the left of this site - I think the latest version is 1.9. It will give you details, just remember that LFR is part of the RPGA, so generic RPGA rules apply, but if there are specific LFR rules they will supercede. Of course you can post questions here and they will most likely get answered fairly quickly. |

I will be bringing a new character, Tor, who is a 1st level Longtooth Shifter Tempest Fighter.

Hmm, lvl 3 paladin surrounded by lvl 1s. Woo! (I'd totally bring a lvl 1 too, but damnit I need to get my paladin to the 4 - 7 bracket)

Hmm, lvl 3 paladin surrounded by lvl 1s. Woo! (I'd totally bring a lvl 1 too, but damnit I need to get my paladin to the 4 - 7 bracket) I suspect that we will be playing at "Low" difficulty which would only net you 400xp; compare that to 560xp at "High." How far from 4th is your Paladin? No one has indicated that they are bringing a Leader either; which could make this adventure even more dangerous. If you wanted to start a new character, this might be the ideal adventure to do so -- especially with a party of all level 1's. ![]() |

Meh, I already have a cleric in Casey's campaign, I'd rather my next LFR char be something different.
