In case you didn't know the MMORPG Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach has recently relaunched this week as Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited and has gone to a Free to play (F2P) model. Now you can come and explore the City of Stormreach and the untamed wilds of Xen'drik for free.
With one of the best combat systems I've seen in a MMO and hundreds of quests that aren't "Go kill X(number) of Y(some creature)" DDO is one of the most over looked MMOs out there. So if you are new to DDO or a past player thinking about coming back then the time is right to give it a try. To get started Click Here. |

Aaron, what server are you on and do you like you guild(s)?
I am looking for a permadeath* guild that plays like a tabletop game -- where death hurts -- instead of a MMO where death/respawn is just another travel power. This puts the "crawl" back in "dungeon crawl"; as opposed to an "instance run." *permadeath: Another PC can ressurrect you but you cannot use a respawn point for frivolous reasons. There are other rules too but they are all self-enforced and each guild might have variances. |

Not everyone wants a permadeath guild, of course, but if we get enough people interested from this Meetup maybe we can create our own guild? Just a thought. . .

I can't believe I'm about to say/do this. I've been off the Warcrack for over a year. However, I think I could moderate myself. Maybe. I'm game for this. Let me know what server and I'll give it a try.

How does the Free to Play model work with D&DO? Do you get a few basic classes for free with the option to pay for others?

I still play WoW, so I probably won't play DDO alot, but if we did make a meetup guild, I'd at least have interest in trying it out.

How does the Free to Play model work with D&DO? Do you get a few basic classes for free with the option to pay for others? Yeah they are experimenting with Micro-sales as the Asian MMOs are doing now & having huge success. |

I just downloaded DDO, I am getting burned out on WoW and was looking for something different to try out, and given my new obsession with D&D I figured why not go with the MMO to compliment it.
What server is everyone looking at as I was planning on rolling up a toon this afternoon when I get home from work. |

I would suggest the Cannith Server as it was just added when DDO:EU went live.
If you are interested in permadeath and dedicated team play check out this forum. I run a Dedicated group on the Sarlona server that is affiliated with the Guild Dedicated teams but there are other groups out there. I know there are a few PD guilds that exist but haven't tried them. I mainly play on Sarlona on mondays with my team or sporadically during the week with my friend back in MI. I also have started a new character on cannith and ocasionaly play on Argonessen, my first server. More details about my characters can be found here. If someone would like to organize a meetup online I'm all for that and could help some people through some of the quests. The diference between the different Tiers of play (Free/Premium/VIP) can be found here. The limits I know of directly are No Drow or Warforged characters till you either unlock drow or buy it (WF are buy only), limited to 2 character slots (I think that is per server), and some areas are not open to you unless someone buys you a guest pass or you purchase the adventure pack.
