Bowlers have bowling alleys, sports enthusiasts get to go to local parks to play, local actors have community theatre... but what about gamers?!? The purpose of this meet-up group is to establish a place for gamers to gather - even if it's just one or two nights a month!

The Garden State Gaming Society (GS2 pronounced GS Squared), is a group of local adult gamers (age 18+ please!) whose interests span all aspects of role-playing games - from Dungeons & Dragons (the grand-daddy of all rpgs) to what's hot in today's rpg world. We also welcome strategic war gaming enthusiasts with Axis and Allies Minis, DDM, and even a moderate sampling of Clix games. We are actively seeking new members to come join us at our meet-ups. Don't worry - there's no charge!

We hold several meetups throughout the month from one-shots to full blown campaigns and a board/card game night (Cardboard Heroes). For more info on the schedule, click here

Our dedicated group of Core Members will make sure that there are pre-generated characters available for those who don't have access to the game prior to the meetup.

The GS2 is also about exposing people to new avenues of entertainment. Nearly every Card Board Heroes introduces a game that many GSGamers have not tried before. Action/Adventure night has become a test zone for many different games including Capes, Serenity, and Wushu.

We also go on the occasional field trip. Our most recent venture was to the Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo, NY.

This is a great chance for folks who are interested to drop by and see what role-playing is all about. If you have ever wondered what RPG-ing is, come join us for a night or two. We promise we won't make you "roll up characters" the moment we see you. You might catch the RPG bug and find yourself reading a rulebook or two someday...

Some members use these events to find players for their own on-going games. We also have quite a lively message board to keep us entertained between meet-ups, plus the use of Meet-Ups messaging service.

There's lots of reasons to join us - so, don't hesitate!

Attending meet-ups is the one sure way you can let the group know that we are on track and that we serve some purpose to the large game community in NJ. No members are making money doing this - in fact, the meetup group is powered by the Core Members, who are an elite group of GMs that donate the money to keep this machine going. While donations are always accepted, there is absolutely no pressure on the casual member to provide monetary support.
