Hello!
I've added a few notes to the calendar of some gaming events in the area you might be interested in. This weekend is the Ides of Gaming on Saturday, starting at noon. It's upstairs at Espresso Art, on University by Park. Ides of Gaming is a monthly game day that is geared towards board games, card games, and role-playing games. The event repeats every third Saturday of the month. Next weekend (Sat. 24th) is a SAGA Social at Hat's Games, also starting at noon. The Southern Arizona Gamers Association (SAGA) is running a grill with all you can eat hot dogs and hamburgers for $10, plus discounted pre-registration tickets for RinCon '08. There's going to be open gaming inside Hat's Games all afternoon. Hat's Games is located on Alvernon, just south of E. 22nd. On June 7th is the June Tucson RPG Guild Gathering at Espresso Art. We'll be theming it a D&D 4th Edition Release Party. I've got a GM crew that's planning on running the introductory 4th Edition adventure over and over and over that afternoon, plus we'll have D&D trivia and other wacky stuff. I know there's some of us that absolutely hate the very idea of 4th Edition, but I think y'all should come anyway and meet the gamers that tried 4th and didn't like it and grab those gamers for your game. Right after that is Phoenix ConGames, up in Mesa at the Mesa Convention Center, from Thursday the 12th to Sunday the 15th. It's the biggest (and in my opinion, the best) gaming convention up in Phoenix. The following weekend, June 21st, is another Ides of Gaming. The July Tucson RPG Guild Gathering will be held on July 5th. We're looking for a permanent location for the Guild Gathering where we can actually play games. There will be more updates as we get closer to July. We're planning on looking at the first Saturday of the month for the ongoing Guild Gatherings, but that's going to depend on the space we can secure. There's a whole lot of stuff going on this summer! I'll see you at the next Tucson RPG Guild Gathering! If you know of other RPG goodness happing over the next few months, just reply to this e-mail or post on the message board. -Thomas Edited by Thomas D on Jul 7, 2008 2:14 PM |
