Hi all,

I've scheduled a Meet-Up for Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Battleforge Games at 12:15 p.m.

This Meet-Up, Matthew once again has kindly volunteered to run a 4E one-shot adventure for 3rd-level characters. So those interested in playing should bring a 3rd-level character, dice, any rule books necesary to run your character, and a miniature. (Though Matthew possibly may have some pre-generated characters and some character miniatures available as well.)

Each character may start with 2,560 gold pieces worth of magic items. This gold-piece value of magic items is equivalent to: 1 x a 2nd level magic item and 1 x a 3rd level magic item and 1 x a 4th level magic item, and gold equal to a 2nd level magic item (which is the standard starting magic items for 3rd level characters).

You also may want to post in the comments or your R.S.V.P. response what type of character you'll be bringing/playing (i.e., race, class, build), so that others can see what types of characters might be useful in terms of party balance.

I'll be there to DM a 3rd-level one-shot as well, in the event that it looks like there will be more players than one DM reasonably can handle. But we are always looking for other DMs for Meet-Up events. So, if anyone else is interested in running a game of D&D (any edition) at this or a future Meet-Up, please let me know via e-mail or comment.

    Thanks to Matthew for running a 4E game and to Todd as well for running a 1E/2E game. I'd also like to thank those players who ran characters in my 4E one-shot (Brian, Daniel, James, and Mason); y'all really clicked as a team (very organized and effective), and it was pleasure to DM for you. I especially appreciated your good tactical sense and improvisation (e.g., hewing down that pillar -- I didn't see that one coming).

    I will be there and have an open table for anyone interested in 1st Ed/2nd Ed mix. Ask all interested players to show up promptly at 12noon. We have characters made for an on going campaign, or new ones can be created easily enough. Looking forward to some GREAT gaming! Hope to see everyone there! This is a GREAT group to get involved with! Matt and Christian do a bang up job!

We only had 4 players which allowed everyone to have lots of turns. I like smaller groups better. More than 5 and the game gets slow. ”
